pumpkin patch

last october 27, my little family hit the pumkin patch.
it is our very first time going, can you believe?
that goes not just for the kids
but for us two adults as well.

we had a lot of fun exploring at the apple barn!

we saw matter from cars

enjoyed our first hay ride together

went through a corn maze dragging dylan in a wagon

jumped til we dropped at the massive jumping pillow

checked out and rode some tractors

checked out the petting zoo

and of course, we went in search for the perfect pumpkin!

it was a fantastic afternoon spent at the pumpkin patch.
we ended the trek with some amazing sweet potato chips
(they were super yummy!)
and some very cold apple cider juice.

we can't wait until next year's pumpkin patch trek!

celebrating six years...

in celebration of our 6 year wedding anniversary
the hubby and i took the kiddies out for some family time.
it was a beautiful vancouver summer weather
that greeted us.

(just a quick note that this post is photo heavy...
and you can also click on the photos to enlarge)

we started the morning off by packing the kids in our car
and heading to tim hortons drive through for some breakfast
timbits for the little man
coffee, b.e.l.t. & bagel with cream cheese for the adults

our next stop was toys r us
just because we felt like picking up some small trinkets
for both the boys

dylan wanted to get on one of the rides
and asked us if he can share it with kaelan
so of course we gave him his baby brother to ride along!

our next and final stop was granville island
this must be one of my favorite places to visit in the city
as you can never really run out of things to do or see

the hubby was not very happy though when we arrived
the first thing that happened to him after leaving the car
was get splattered by bird goop

yes, you got that right.
disgusting bird goop that got on his glasses
slipped on his cheeks
and hit the littlest man right on his head!

supposedly, it is lucky though.
we've been told plenty of times to buy a lottery ticket.
(and we did --- and no such luck, unfortunately)

we stopped at the public market for lunch
the little man wanted pizza so we obliged
and because the hubby is going strong on his lifestyle change (aka. diet)
we stopped at siegel's to grab some of their yummy goodness!
we both had the Lox and Cream Cheese
(wild sockeye salmon, cream cheese, red onions & capers)
it was super delicous!!!

the little man was so enthralled with the boats around
and kept yelling at the top of his lungs that he wanted to ride one
that we obliged and got ourselves on a mini-tour
aboard the aquabus

when we got back at the island
we spent the afternoon lazing around
checking out some of the galleries
doing a bit of window shopping
chasing after the birds
and drooling over some sweets at the market

our last and most important stop
was a quick detour over at the gelato cafe
to pick up some creamy and decadent sweets
as a perfect punctuation mark to end our day

we had a marvelous time exploring a small part of our beautiful city!
it's even more marvelous that we've shared six years together
and now have two wonderful kids to celebrate our anniversaries with.
i think this will definitely be a tradition
for us to spend our anniversaries with the boys
and not just for ourselves.

up the mountain we go

Prior to our getting pregnant with Dylan, the hubby and I loved to take spontaneous trips out-of-town. We will be sitting at home on a Saturday morning when the urge to get up and go will overtake us and we'll find ourselves a few hours away from Vancouver wandering the streets of some of the tourist spots.

With our little boy who 13 months old, it's a little harder to be 'spontaneous' parents but yesterday, the urge came back full force and a little after lunch, we left the house to pick-up the hubby's nephew on the way to visit the village in Whistler (where the Paralympics are currently being held). Though the weather was not at it's best (the rain was pouring in Whistler by the time we arrived), the skies finally cleared to give us a chance to sight-see and visit some of the local stores.

Dylan and his Kuya (term for older brother, cousin or friend) Jath all bundled up in the back seat of our tiny (but very reliable!) car. It was a two hour drive to Whistler and both boys were sound asleep on the way up and coming home.

Sea-to-Sky highway... the view is always breathtaking up here.

Want some fries?!?

Dylan saying "CHEESE!"

Jath, at 11 years old, is seriously the best babysitter I can ever ask for --- here he is showing the ropes to his younger cousin on how to properly enjoy the playzone at McDonalds.

A quick photo of the boys in front of McDonalds at Squamish. Don't be fooled by what they are wearing --- it's freezing up here!

Finally made it to Whistler! Stopping for photos --- not sure who these people were!

Checking out some paraphernalia inside the Olympic store.

More photo ops!

Darn right he's got the Right to Play!

Jath with his favourite Tito.

The baby boy cross-eyed from checking out how to drink our coffee! (No worries, it was an empty cup).

A quick family snapshot --- the hubby was taking a photo of Jath, of course.

Have you done anything spontaneous lately?

Garry Point Park

we spent a beatifully gorgeous afternoon sipping glorious sunshine while taking a stroll at Garry Point Park. i can't believe how lucky we are to be able to live 5 minutes away from the likes of these beautiful places.

the little man with his serious face

a beautiful view of the small lake (boy, to live in a house that had this type of rustic beauty behind me --- it would be pure heaven!)

daddy, dylan and our (not-so) little shih tzu, milo.

dylan trying to get a 'kiss' out of my-my (one of our dog's many nicknames).

did you darlings have a beautiful afternoon as well???

visiting Steveston Village

I have not been feeling well since yesterday but the hubby was insistent that we step out to get some fresh air.

So we hopped in the car this afternoon and drove 5 minutes to Steveston Village --- a small community by the wharf where streets are lined with all kinds of lovely stores and bistros and restaurants are found at every corner. It really is a beautiful place to visit --- especially in the summer time!

This beautiful set-up was at a brand new consignment store called COUTURE CONSIGNMENT. I loved this certain find --- when the hubby and I left (along with the baby, of course), he asked me if the items they were selling were new! Yes, they have amazing items in the store and carry authentic brand names for a good 80% off the price! A definite gem of an addition at Steveston Village!

This is still inside Couture Consignment... they had quite a selection of vintage books that I cannot wait to delve into!

I really wanted her --- not the mannequin, but the little doll in the orrange, silly (not sure what they are called so if you know, please pass the info along).

The weather turned gray so we took shelter from the rain for a few minutes and found....

... some yummy gellato! Cappuccino for me and Cookies and Cream for him! If like us, you are sick with a cold and sore throat, feel free to delve into these as they are heaven on your throats!

Then, on our way back to the car, I noticed this pretty little shop and went in
--- I loved it soooo much and wanted to purchase just about EVERYTHING in the store but ended up with one little item....

... and I gift-wrapped that one little item of mine for a special someone who is turning 26 this March 7th!!! This is the only sneak peek you get :)

How was your Saturday, lovlies?
