I came home today to a wonderful surprise in my mailbox... it was a package from Crissy from the mail scrambler hosted by Caroline. I was hoping this package wasn't lost in the mail and it made me super happy to receive such wonderful presents!


The bookmarks which she made herself goes PERFECT with my new Twilight set. Yes --- after all this time of loving Twilight, the hubby finally bought the boxed set for me for Easter (I've been reading and re-reading my brother's collection of books this whole time).

And along with the package she sent was a perfectly cute knitted bracelet she made herself! I absolutely adored it!

On a side note, I have been very busy this evening writing postcards and notes to send to a few people... I have been neglecting my writings these past weeks but so much has been happening on this end and finally, things have settled down a bit that I am able to catch up.

Most of you lovies will be receiving some snail mail from me soon!!!

a sweet friday surprise

One of the things I love doing these days is going straight to my mailbox when I get home from work. It just so happens that today, a lovely little package in a pretty polkadot bag was protruding from my box and I squeeled in excitement.

Here is my lovely little package from the beautiful Micaela of Dolce Vita. She is the sweetest person I have "never" met!

In my excitement, I almost forgot to take photos of the pretty things inside the parcel --- I couldn't wait to get my hands on her note and present!

And inside the beautifully wrapped box is an equally beautiful charm bracelet which I can personalize with photos of my little man. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box --- it seems that Micaela has been reading my mind all along --- I heart charm bracelets --- and one where I can put cherished photos on is even better.

Micaela, when you read this ---- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I adore the wonderful "something" you have sent and treasure it more than words can say.... I do hope you enjoy my birthday present when you go back to Virginia (assuming the mail gets it there before your return!)

Mail Scrambler (by Cour de La)

A week or so back, I've decided to join my first ever swap via Caroline at Cour de La. I thought it was going to be easy, after all, Caroline only had one specific request in mind... "something simple".

So I racked my brains for "something simple".

And thought.

And slept on it.

And I panicked at times thinking I'll never be able to send anything on time!

And it took me FOREVER to finally come up with SOMETHING that was ME but also, something that I think my swap partner would enjoy.

I've finally dropped it off today at the post office and it should take a week to get into someone's mailbox.

And as a sneak peak (I'm not giving away what's inside in case my swap partner sees this little corner ahead of time), here's the envelope I made just for the special little item(s) that went in... I know, I'm not artsy-craftsy but I'm darned proud of this pretty little thing. I truly hope my swap partner enjoys it!

i was thinking of shopping for the perfect postcards to send for my very first Postcrossing project when I realized that a number of years ago, I purchased a slew of cards on a weekend trip to Victoria, BC. being a vancouverite means "Thinking Green" so i decided that because the postcards are just sitting pretty in a little box in my closet, that i would rather send those cards to my recipients in China, Finland, Germany, USA & Poland because they would most likely appreciate it better than i would!

in my excitement for this project, all five cards have been addressed and each contains a personal note from me. now off i go to the postal office on monday to personally send each of my cards out!

Postcrossing...

I have always had a love of writing letters. When a friend of mine mentioned Postcrossing, I knew my love was rekindled as I read what it was about. I had to sign up right away and be part of the group!

I am also so very excited to receive my very first postcard project (more like 5 cards to send!)! I am going to hunt for the perfect cards to send out and hopefully, the people who are going to receive it will be able to learn a little about me and my piece of the world.
