27 is over...

i just turned 28.

because the hubby had to work on my actual birthday
and i have been badly wanting to take the kids to the beach
we decided to hit Barnet Park last monday to do a quiet celebration
with my boys, my bestest girlfriend, her hubby and her baby bump.

after weeks of dreary vancouver weather
(and if you know me, i am quite happy with that!)
it was actually quite nice to see the sun peek out on monday
and we were able to thoroughly enjoy the time spent at the park.

how about i let the photos do some talking here?

after a solid 8 hours spent by the beach
numerous sunblock applications
forgetting the grill of the bbq (thank goodness we had aluminum foil!)
breaking the handles of our picnic bag
my bff having to buy a cooler on her way
and also the very preggers bff having to taking a dive in the cold water
to catch the little man who lost his footing (thank you for this!)
building sandcastles
digging in the sand
feasting on some yummy bbq
and hours upon hours of just plain quality time
i can say that in just one day, we are able to fully get our summer on.

we had a fantabulous time!
and i have to say, it was a nice way to end year 27
and begin year 28.

it has been so hot lately...

that on a daily basis i have been craving bubble tea.
and not just any bubble tea.
i have to drag the whole family and drive a solid half hour
just to go to my most favorite bubble tea shop of all.

it seems they are the only one who serves my addiction.
CAPPUCCINO ICE CREAM BUBBLE TEA.
***drools***

seriously, no other shop has it.
and i should know.
i have been ordering the same thing from them
since i was in grade 9 (when they first opened!)
and that was a good 13 years ago!!!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

the very first snowfall of the season is finally gearing up it's head
in our lovely part of town
i sit here and type this looking out at the lamp posts outside
where the wind is blowing tons of snow our way.
it is absolutely gorgeous.
as much as i love the golden brown of the autumn leaves
there is something to be said about the pristine white that coats the ground,
the cars and the houses this time of year.

so let that snow keep falling as i gear myself up for the holidays!
doesn't it feel like christmas already?

summer just isn't complete...

without spending some time by the pool.

because the vancouver weather has been absolutely beautiful these days, the little man has been spending tremendous amounts of time outside giving this mommy some time to relax by the shade reading a book.

how has your summer been?

and the powder starts to fall

The begginings of a White Christmas is finally falling from the sky. I was so thrilled to see the snow arrive as I was hoping that my little man's first Christmas is complete with white powder on the ground. Mother nature seems to be cooperating with one of my wishes.

I love winter --- it's my favourite season of all.

P.S. Wish I can credit the photo above as mine --- it isn't. Wish I can credit the right person but I just grabbed it off google. Don't you love it though? I do. It epitomizes my exact feeling for the winter season.
