birthday cakes are half the fun!

i have so many exciting news to share with you all... news that came down on us all in one day... my little man's birthday!

and the hunt begins

a few weeks back, i was happily oblivious to the world of preschools and montessories until a friend mentioned how difficult it is to come across great facilities that does not have a wait list.

i decided to look up a few montessories in my neighbourhood and found only a handful that i would like to enroll the little man in.

so i placed a couple of calls on my lunch hour to obtain some information.

to my surprise, the one on top of my list has a wait list! that's correct --- my son is going to be wait-listed though preschool does not start until september of 2012!

in my panic, i have called two more montessories and decided to pay the disgusting amount of non-refundable registration fees just to ensure that he will have the space for at least one of them by the time he hits 3 years old!

i cannot believe that i have actually done this when i have at least another 2 years to go.

a belated greeting

Yesterday, my little brother celebrated his 20th birthday.

Although he is 20 and consequently TALLER and BIGGER than I am, he will forever remain my "little" brother.

He wanted to celebrate with a late breakfast at Denny's. So my family sans the hubby went for an "all american breakfast" (not really sure why they don't call it an all canadian breakfast!).

... we are celebrating the little man's BIG ONE.

i'm also going back to work very shortly after.

so instead of spending my time blogging, i'm going to bed and cuddle my sweet smelling baby while he's at the age where cuddles and kisses are the most precious gifts you can give.

a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY posting

The hubby celebrated his __(undisclosed)__ birthday last 29th.

Because the holidays took its toll on us, we were unable to do anything special for his day. I even feel horrendous because his present has not arrived (darn the postal service for this!).

Nontheless, we ended up celebrating his birthday one day late with a quick stop at Best Buy to grab a few PS3 games and some All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ Dinner (yyyuuummmm!!!).

on turning 25

prior to finding out about being pregnant, i was planning on a big 25th birthday bash for myself. i wanted lots of people, lots of food and better yet, lots of drinks. i wanted to welcome my big 2-5 with wide open arms and a party that i will never forget.

least to say, that is not what happened.

oh, don't get me wrong. i got myself the lots of people... in the few select friends i have learned to cherish. i also got myself lots of food in my most favorite spot of all. but due to the baby shrimp coming along, the drinking had to be stalled... but i do have to say that i was not as upset as i thought i would be when i couldn't have a sip of that seethroughgrassskirt i have been craving for in so many months.

towards the end of the night, with the oohing and aahing over the presents given to me, the hubby decided to surprise me with a tiffany necklace that i have been looking at, but never really asked for (i was really asking him for a new camera with the thoughts of this baby arriving next year). it was the most thoughtful thing he had ever given me in the past six years of our relationship considering that he never really puts much thought into what he will get me.

the necklace is beautiful, but incomparable to this gift that we have been blessed with. because no material thing will ever mean as much as this gift that i am carrying for the both of us.

happy birthday to me, then. after all that, this really is the most memorable birthday i will ever have.
