Cainta, Manila
Hours after the devastation of Typhoon Ondoy

Our thoughts and prayers go to those who bear witness and experienced first hand the disaster that Typhoon Ondoy brought to Manila. I am also thankful that my relatives, though somewhat affected by the typhoon, was not injured, hurt or harmed in any way.

and... HE'S UP!

Dylan is taking leaps and strides into his development --- what's new as of this week? He has learned how to pull himself UP! It's fast going to the point where I am not able to keep my eyes off him.

the 60 days countdown

I am finally going to count down to our much awaited vacation!

A month ago, we booked our 5-day Vegas Trip and we are so looking forward to it! Yes, the baby will be coming along --- it's only appropriate that he gets to see the place he was conceived, don't you think?!? ;)

father and son

“One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, Make me the kind of man my Daddy is. Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be.”

dance 'til you drop!

Everywhere we end up going, Dylan pulls out one of his antics that gets everyone focused on him. It just so happens that on this one, he gets into another "scream-mode". And check those feet out!

back to reading

I walked into my bathroom last night and sat on the toilet to find myself staring at a copy of Dan Brown's newest book The Lost Symbol staring me in the face. I yelped in shock and screamed in delight that my wonderful hubby has given me such a wonderful surprise!

I've been going at the book like there is no tomorrow. I think that's the number one reason why I woke up with a migraine today.

I can't wait to make a serious dent on it!

i miss me some of those kicks

This was me 7.5 months pregnant.

You're probably wondering what on earth I am doing posting an old photo but gosh darn it, it's one of those days where I actually do miss being pregnant!

I was one of the lucky ones that never really suffered from pregnancy symptoms. Yes, there's the usual nauseated feeling and the constant washroom runs but I don't really recall anything that was too bad that kept me in bed begging for the baby to come out already (well, except for my last couple of weeks when I became uber bored from staying at home and not working).

Don't get me wrong --- I love the fact that my little Patrick (how weird using his first name) is now here for me to fully enjoy but there was just something about knowing there's another life inside you. I miss the kicks and those little hiccups. I miss feeling expectant and scared at the thought of labour.

I REALLY MISS IT.

I'm just going to have to wait for the next one then, won't I???

a celebration of sorts

Our wedding anniversary no longer just pertains to the hubby and I so as a celebration, we decided to take a 'Family Day' and bring Dylan out and about town.

The first stop was lunch at our favourite Richmond Sushi. Even Dylan was enjoying munching on some Edamame's.

We also hit Granville Island for a quick peek around the Kids Market.

You cannot leave the island without a yummy stop for baked goods at the Public Market! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted.

Our next stop was Queen Elizabeth Park as the 'other' child wanted to get his drift on.

And while daddy played, Dylan and I were checking out the duck pond.

It was the perfect way to celebrate another milestone in our marriage --- this time, with a beautiful little boy to share it with!

After all these years...

A faded wedding photograph
You and me in our first dance
Our eyes are closed
We're lost in one sweet embrace
Since those days the world has changed
Our love remains the same
God knows we've had our share of saving grace

And I'm proud of all the blessings
You have given me
The mountains we have climbed to get this far
You learn to take the laughter with the tears
After all these years

Bumpety-BUMP!

A few months ago, my sister-in-law gave us quite a hefty load of toddler clothes and in that loot was a soft cloth helmet. We laughed at the helmet --- it turns our nephew has made use of it when he first started walking to avoid getting any sort of bumps on the head.

Because my little man has decided to take not one, but two dives off the bed already (don't ask about the second one, it's still a sore spot for us) and because he is now so fond of crawling around and just loves walls, I decided to give the little bumpety-bump helmet a try.

Let's cross our fingers it works for him!!!

what's cooking, ma?

A year ago, the hubby purchased a stove-top grill for me as he thought it would help lessen the usage of oil in some of the dinners that I prepare. Boy, was he right. But most of all, my B&D Stove-Top grill has been my best friend since he purchased it! Not only is it great for bacons and eggs in the morning, it's super convenient and easy to use!

So what's on it for today's lunch? Some yummy cured beef --- which sat in a fajita key lime marinade for the last two days. Uhuh. I can smell it now and I can't wait to taste it!!!
